Mission Statement

We are the Schaumburg Education Association (SEA). The SEA is an association of about 1,300 members composed of elementary and junior high school teachers, speech and language pathologists, and social workers. We are an affiliate of the National Education Association (NEA) and the Illinois Education Association (IEA). We serve 28 schools which includes 21 elementary schools, five junior high schools, an early childhood center and one K-8 School. District 54 has a total enrollment of over 15,000 students.

The purpose of this association is to advance public education and to improve and promote the welfare of the membership, students, and community. Additionally, SEA acts as the liaison between our members and school administration.

Our Mission is…

  • To advocate for our membership and to provide leadership for them in such areas as professionalism, ethical standards, member welfare and political advocacy.
  • To be educational leaders and effective, caring teachers in the classroom.
  • To advocate for the welfare of all school children.
  • To engage in political action to enact legislation that supports public education.
