Good morning, SEA!
We have made it to the last week in August and we have a 3-day weekend already just ahead of us. If you are headed to Schaumburg’s Septemberfest, want free parking? If you volunteer to park cars at Collins School on Saturday or Sunday, you can park your car there for free. The District 54 Education Foundation is still looking for volunteers to park cars as well as to work at the Pilot Pete’s Food Booth next Monday. Superintendent DuRoss recently sent an all staff email sharing a little bit about what the D54 Education Foundation does and our visibility at the Septemberfest is one of our biggest fundraisers of the year.
Sign up here to help out with parking at Collins School on August 31 or September 2.
Sign up here to help out with the Pilot Pete’s Food Booth on September 3.
Here is the link to the August 26th Edition of the Monday Message. Here are the highlights from this week’s newsletter:
- Join the 2024-2025 School Board Relations Team – apply here by September 3
- Free SEA #RedForEd Shirts for new members – fill out the form by August 29
- SEA/SEEO is seeking crafters and vendors for our D54 Education Foundation fundraiser on Saturday, November 9th. Feel free to share this link with family and friends.
Are you a new educator who met with the SEA on Wednesday, August 7th during your Induction Week? Remember the session you may have attended on Financial Responsibilities (How Do I Get to Where I Want With My Finances)? That will be a session offered at IEA’s Fall Fest on the morning of Saturday, September 28. It will be a full hour-long session. There will also be an early career roundtable discussion and other great professional development opportunities for you. This event is not just for new teachers but for all of our members in the SEA & SEEO, as well as other local IEA Regions. I have attached the flier and you can find out more information about the Fall Fest in this week’s Monday Message.
Register here for IEA’s Palatine Office Fall Fest (held in Schaumburg’s PLC) on September 28.
Stay cool this week as it’s going to be quite a HOT summer week!25 School Year, SEA!
