Hello SEA!
Hope you have had a nice weekend! And this week we got to look forward to next weekend being three-day for all of us!
Here is the link to the October 7th Monday Message.
Curious about how extremely stressful experiences in childhood can alter brain development? Interested in learning how this doesn’t have to be permanent? The SEA Trauma Responsive Schools Committee invites you to a viewing of “Resilience”, a documentary that “delves into the science of Adverse Childhood Experiences (ACEs) and the birth of a new movement to treat and prevent Toxic Stress.” On Monday, October 21, 2024, at 5:15 immediately following the SEA Rep meeting, join members of the SEA & SEEO for dinner, viewing of Resilience, and a discussion. REGISTER HERE so we know how many to expect.
Other information you will find in this week’s Monday Message:
- SEA/SEEO’s Member Appreciation Event | Ringer Trivia Night | November 18th 5-8 PM | Dinner included | REGISTER HERE
- SEA/SEEO’s Annual $1 Per Member Donation | Submit your suggestion here
- Building Rep Special Elections Nominations due today
- IEA’s Early Career Fall Blitz | November 2nd | REGISTER HERE

This week the SEA Exec Board member you should get to know is Dan Levin, our contract and grievance chair. He helps me to add a weekly contract reminder to the Monday Messages and is available to answer any contractual questions you have.
One last thing… registration is now open for IEA’s Ethnic Minority and Emerging Leaders Training (EMELT). EMELT is designed to provide training for ethnic minorities and emerging leaders with a series of sessions including developing leadership skills, helping to navigate the business events and the association, and providing tools to help attendees begin their leadership journey. This year’s event is November 8-10 in Springfield. Click here to register to attend. You can also apply to receive funding from the SEA or funding from Region 35 to attend! We would love to send a group of our members!
More information is coming in the near future on how to attend IEA’s Tier II Lobby Day on November 13th!
