Mobley’s Message 09-23-2024

Happy 2nd day of Autumn, SEA!

Hope you had a nice weekend in spite of a rainy Sunday!  After school today is our first SEA building representative meeting of the year.  We are meeting in the PLC from 3:30-5:00 PM.  All members are welcome to attend.  We will be having a short presentation from a Workplace Solutions representative.  Our building reps will be bringing back that information to your schools to share out in your upcoming 10 minute SEA meetings.

Please be sure you have taken the time to update your membership information with your building rep as our SEA team is meeting later this week to reconcile all of the information.

Immediately following the SEA Building Rep meeting will be our Region 35 council meeting.  Want to find out more about the work our council does? Join members of the SEA/SEEO from 5-6:30 PM in the PLC today!

In the September 23rd Edition of the Monday Message, you are going to find information about our SEA October Special Elections.  As previously mentioned, many of our buildings have open building rep positions.  If you are one of those buildings (particularly Dirksen, Fox, and Hanover Highlands), we would love to have you join our building rep team! Use the QR code in the Monday Message or click here to fill out your nomination form.

Other information highlighted this week:

Lastly, a new feature in the Monday Message will be featuring a member of SEA’s Executive Board.  This week we are featuring, Leanna Kieya, a Title 1 Teacher supporting 5th/6th grades at Lakeview School.  She is SEA’s Elementary Instructional Services liaison meeting with Dr. Knoll monthly as the voice of SEA’s elementary members.  She’s definitely someone you should know.

Have a fantastic week everyone and looking forward to seeing you at the Building Rep Meeting today!

Good morning, SEA!

We have made it to the last week in August and we have a 3-day weekend already just ahead of us.  If you are headed to Schaumburg’s Septemberfest, want free parking?  If you volunteer to park cars at Collins School on Saturday or Sunday, you can park your car there for free.  The District 54 Education Foundation is still looking for volunteers to park cars as well as to work at the Pilot Pete’s Food Booth next Monday.  Superintendent DuRoss recently sent an all staff email sharing a little bit about what the D54 Education Foundation does and our visibility at the Septemberfest is one of our biggest fundraisers of the year.

Sign up here to help out with parking at Collins School on August 31 or September 2.
