Welcome to the last day of February, SEA!
As you know, effective today Monday, Feb. 28, the Illinois school mask mandate has been lifted. As Superintendent DuRoss shared in his community message yesterday, students and staff will still be allowed to wear masks in school if they choose. Additionally, District 54 will no longer require masks on buses.
This week’s Monday Message has some important information regarding our contract ratification process and an informational meeting we will be holding on Wednesday, March 16, during staff development in which all members are invited to attend to find out more about all of the tentative agreements. We will be having a virtual election on Friday, March 18, in which our members will vote “Yes” or “No” to approved the contract. Attached to this email is the election notice that our building reps have been asked to post on your SEA boards. We understand this is over two weeks away, but SEEO is still in negotiations and our SEA team worked with the district to allow us to present during staff development. This allows all groups the time they need to prepare as necessary.
Other information from this week’s Monday Message (Feb. 28 Edition) includes:
- 2021-2022 SEA Award Nominations
- Performers needed for our General Meeting:
Singer of the National Anthem, Dual Language/Immersion Student(s) to lead the Pledge of Allegiance
